Single mothers in Somalia face a range of challenges and hardships that can make their lives difficult. Some of the key challenges is many single mothers struggle to provide for their families and finding safe and stable housing can be also a significant challenge for single mothers. Lack of proper housing can affect their overall living conditions and contribute to their vulnerabilities. This can result in financial instability, making it difficult to afford basic necessities such as food, clothing, and education for their children.
The “Empowering Single Mothers in Somalia Through Sewing Machines” project aims to provide sustainable support to single mothers in Somalia by equipping them with sewing machines. This initiative recognizes the challenges faced by single mothers in accessing stable livelihoods and aims to empower them with a valuable skillset that can generate income and improve their overall well-being.
By providing sewing machines to single mothers in Somalia, enabling them to contribute to the local economy by creating a network of skilled seamstresses and increasing the availability of clothing and textile services in the community and generating income for themselves and their families and can help reduce their dependence on external support.
Therefore, we would like to distribute sewing machines to five selected single mothers who have good sewing skills but have the perfect sewing tools. For this reason, we want to distribute sewing machines so that they can use the acquired skills.
Hopefully this project can overcome the economic challenges faced by single mothers by achieving self-sufficiency and being an active contributor to the growth of their community. By equipping them with the tools and skills they need, we can pave the way for a brighter future.
