The civil war that occurred in Yemen has caused them to become victims of the oppressed war in their own country. There are almost hundreds of thousands of people who have been killed and homeless. This causes millions of Yemenis to live in poverty and hunger and has caused Yemen to become the poorest country in the Middle East. Therefore, the conflict that occurred has had an impact on the people who live there. The problem of food supply is also always reduced. Yemen is also one of the Arab countries most affected by cholera than other Arab countries.
Based on data obtained by the UN in 2022, it was also found that there are 2.2 million children under 5 years old experiencing the worst hunger. In addition, more than half a million of their people suffer from malnutrition. Therefore, the problem of famine is a common thing in Yemen.
When the month of Ramadan arrives, Yemenis will fast during the day and go hungry at night because of insufficient food. While all Muslims around the world can fast in the month of Ramadan with joy. So, it is clear that the problem of hunger and starvation is a misery that Yemenis have to face for years.
