Islam is the second-most prevalent religion in India, with 14.2 percent of the country’s 172 million people identifying as Muslims. It elevates India to the position of having the largest Muslim population outside of Muslim-majority countries. However, being in a large population does not make our Muslim brothers and sisters feel at ease with the islamophobia attacks that make life extremely difficult for them.
Muslims have the lowest living standard of any religious group, with an average per capita expenditure of Rs. 32.66 (RM1.84) per day.
This Ramadan we are providing iftar meals to our brothers and sisters in India who are facing discrimination for being Muslim in a non-Muslim country. An iftar meal will cost RM14 which includes the main dish, water, fruit, dates, and appetizer.
