“And, for every nation We have prescribed the slaughtering (qurban), so that they mention the name of God over the livestock that God has provided for them. Therefore, your God is the One and Only God, therefore submit yourselves to Him and give glad tidings to those who submit to God.”     (Surah Al-Hajj: 34)

The month of Zulhijjah is a month that is very much awaited by Muslims. Among the things that are definitely associated with the month of Zulhijjah are the Hajj, Eid al-Adha, qurban, and the distribution of sacrificial meat. Furthermore, the act of giving sacrificial meat to people who are less fortunate and unable to afford it is a practice of qurban meat charity. This practice is done when Muslims around the world, including Malaysia, will sacrifice animals and distribute the meat to those in need.

The issue of poverty continues to plague society every day. Therefore, many are still stuck with issues such as the cost of living and loss of livelihood. Therefore, there are some communities that are difficult to survive such as single mothers and the poor may only be able to enjoy the meat of the animal once a year. Therefore, we need to help those groups who are struggling with poverty and hunger because they really deserve it.

This can also give an indication to ourselves that it is important to help our Muslim community by always giving help and support to those who are less fortunate so that they can live better and feel moments of joy even for a temporary period.

In addition to giving joy to the less able, sacrificial worship is actually one form of obedience to the command of Allah SWT because not everyone is ready to share what they have even if they are given more sustenance. Therefore, the time has come for us to show our obedience to God by giving some of the blessings that God has given to those in need such as distributing the meat of the sacrifice to them.

Therefore, we invite you all to give them joy and lighten their burden a little. This is the time when it is our turn to give packages of qurban meat to those in need. May the donation of a cow be able to give them the pleasure of performing the sacrifice during Aidiladha later.
