Surah al-Hajj verse 36, Allah s.w.t says;
“And We made the camel (which was given to the poor of Mecca) a part of God’s religion for you; in slaughtering that camel there is good for you; therefore mention the name of Allah (while slaughtering it) when it stands on its three legs, then when it falls (and loses its life), eat part of it, and give (the other part) to those who do not ask and those who ask. Thus We made it easy for you (to master it and slaughter it) so that you may be grateful”.
Morocco is officially an Islamic country. Based on Pew research, the entire population in general (99%) is Muslim. Therefore, Muslims around the world including Morocco will also celebrate Eid al-Adha. If in Malaysia, Muslims celebrate Aidiladha with the slaughter of sacrifices such as cows and goats, just like in other countries.
Ibadah qurban refers to the practice of sacrificing domestic animals such as cows or goats, and sharing the meat with family and also those in need on Eid al-Adha. Therefore, we want to help the group because this group cannot afford to prepare meat dishes due to the small income factor.
Did you know, the poverty rate in Morocco is as bad as in 2014 due to the high cost of basic goods and inflation. Inflation is an increase in the price of goods. The ability of people to buy goods is decreasing. It is clear here that the community in Morocco needs more money to buy necessities due to the high cost of living. The drought that hit also affected the economy of the people of Morocco, especially the farmers.
It is not surprising that these people can only taste delicious food like beef once in a while. Therefore, we hope that with this donation of beef, we can further increase the quality of their food.
