Islam came to Vietnam in peace at various times, primarily through traders and immigration. The Islamic faith has been practised in Vietnam since the 10th century, when the Champa Kingdom ruled, and there are an estimated 72,000 Muslims in the country now.
There are around 40 masjid and 21 musolla in Vietnam. Because the majority of Muslims in Vietnam live in Ho Chi Minh City and An Giang Province, the largest sanctuaries are all in these areas.
Every Ramadan we will receive many appeals to help the poor and underprivileged muslims from all over the world; Yemen, Syria, Cambodia, Uganda but rarely we see the appeal from our brothers and sisters in Vietnam.
Their appeals rarely visible not because they don’t need help but their voice unheard and suffers unseen since they are hidden minorities living in country with millions of populations.
Alhamdulillah last Ramadan we could support our forgotten brothers and sisters in Vietnam with iftar meals and this year we would like to invite you with our new mission to provide food baskets to the neediest families. One food basket could help a family to have iftar and suhoor for the whole Ramadan.
