The vast majority of single parent households are made up of single mothers and their children. One of the key drivers of such single-mother households in Uganda is the rising rate of adolescent pregnancies. Raising a family as a single parent is more difficult because they struggle to meet the end needs and face additional challenges if the family is large.
Last year we have received vast request to support single mothers with the basic needs so they can feed their family in the bless month of Ramadan until later we understand single mothers are not the only single parents’ household that need support but disabled, poor family do need support too.
Therefore, this upcoming Ramadan we will make the category of beneficiaries wider in which any families that having financial issues and can’t afford to buy the food are eligible to receive the goods.
