Last year was a heartbreaking moment for us once we decided to held an Iftar Jama’ei at Bawean Island, Gresik, Indonesia. It was our first year to reach the poor in Bawean Island. The happiest people to receive the iftar meals were the kids and orphans, though the iftar pack that we have prepared last time was a regular meal for most of us but amazingly become special for them. Chicken and meat are something they rarely eat and it can be once a year meal for most of them.
They were happy and excited to have a different meal than they used to have all the year, unfortunately we have to make a rotation system for the iftar due to limited funds. Some of the kids came everyday and we couldn’t tell them to back as we saw their happy face.
This year we want to make those kids happy again and we hope that they could enjoy the best iftar meals throughout Ramadan and no more rotation system.
