Meet Hafsa Isah Abubakar, a spirited young girl with dreams as big as her heart. Born on 12th June 2017 in Bauchi, Nigeria, Hafsa has faced more challenges in her short life than most of us can imagine. She is the eldest of 12 siblings, and her story is one of resilience, hope, and the power of community support.

Hafsa’s life took a tragic turn when her father, Isah Abubakar, passed away on 2nd January 2017 due to Hepatitis B, leaving behind a devastated family struggling to make ends meet. Her mother, Laila Abubakar Danda, has been their pillar of strength. Despite her valiant efforts, Laila, who works as a primary school teacher, faces the relentless challenge of providing for her large family on a meager salary.

Education is Hafsa’s beacon of hope. She recently started attending Maryam Musa LeLe Academy in Bauchi, where she is in Primary 1. Education is her ticket to breaking free from the cycle of poverty that has entrapped her family for generations. However, with her mother’s limited income, providing quality education for Hafsa is a daily struggle.
