Zaid is a resilient young boy who, despite facing immense challenges, continues to dream of a better future. He was born in Gaza and is the eldest of four siblings. His father, Mousa Jabr Abdel Salam Abu Hassanein, was a martyr who gave his life for a cause he believed in on May 14, 2014. Left without their primary breadwinner, Zaid’s family has been struggling to make ends meet ever since.

Zaid’s mother, Aida Maher Mustafa Abu Hassanein, has been his pillar of strength. As a widow and the guardian of her four children, Aida has had to endure the pain of losing her husband while striving to provide for her family. The martyr’s salary she receives is far from sufficient, and their situation is increasingly challenging.

Despite the financial hardships and the harsh realities of life in Gaza, Zaid is determined to receive an education. He currently attends Beach Males B/Beach camp, where he aspires to excel and fulfill his dreams. Education is his beacon of hope, and he’s determined to break the cycle of poverty that surrounds him.
