INTERNATIONAL ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY MALAYSIA (IIUM) has been known as The Garden of Knowledge And Virtue it is the highlight that IIUM is not the only place for seeking knowledge but the place for educate the people about the virtue of human beings by strengthening the bonds of the community through humanitarian and volunteering activities.
24% from 10,000 students in IIUM are international students as the people travel from all over the world to seek knowledge in this prestigious university. Some of them got their financial support from scholarship and sponsorship while the others survive with their family support. The cost including the university fees, student visa, accommodation and daily cost of living for one semester can be at least RM8000 and can exceed RM10,000.
Al-Aqsa Society Club found many students at the International Islamic University in Malaysia (IIUM) facing financial issues to complete their studies. Some of the students are in their last semester couldn’t even graduate and receive their bachelor’s degree certificate as they fail to pay the required fees. Many students that have done a long way in their studies but still left with outstanding fees as they unable to provide the amount requested. Therefore, Al-Aqsa Society Club adopts the idea of a Cash Waqf project to support the students with financial issues and help them to pay their tuition fees so they can complete the study and obtain a bachelor’s degree certificate at the end of their last semester.
This project is organized with the approval of the administration of the university and cooperation with the ForNeedy Association Malaysia
